Poor Man’s Stew Recipe

Poor Man’s Stew, a quick and easy dinner recipe made from scratch and full of great flavor

Poor man’s stew. Really easy made from scratch, budget recipe. Full of flavors and a great family dinner.

Poor man’s stew! This is a delicious and full of flavor recipe. The ingredients are very simple and you’ll often find them in your store cupboard or freezer.

I’ve named this Poor Man’s Stew because it’s budget-friendly and inexpensive. Of course with regular soup you’d probably use a piece of beef or pork. However, this can be expensive, especially if you have a lot of mouths to feed. For this recipe, I used half ground pork and half beef. You can use whatever ground beef you prefer, or ground soy / tofu if you want to make this dinner vegetarian.

For vegetables, use your family’s favorite and anything in season. That way, the vegetables will be at their best and lowest price as well. If you want to go up the size of this serving even further, add more potatoes and carrots.

This is an easy to prepare and very tasty meal! I serve this to the family one night a week because it is so quick to prepare. You can also freeze it, so if you want to make a large saucepan, you can place it in several containers and simply defrost it when you want one, then heat it up. It’s that easy! Although I didn’t make this recipe on a slow cooker, but only on a stove (because it’s so fast), you can use your slow cooker.

Of course you should dip the bread in the broth! Everyone loves to do it when they prepare this meal, so make sure you have plenty of bread on hand too !

Poor Man’s Stew is truly a delicious and great recipe for those who don’t have to cooking, but want to make something straightforward and from scratch. It’s really a simple recipe so please enjoy it and I’m sure it will quickly become a popular recipe in your home too!
